Curriculum drivers

We live and learn well together (Community): We believe that our curriculum will enable the children to develop the emotional understanding necessary to experience positive relationships. Our children will learn the skills necessary to develop a sense of justice and an ability to empathise. This ensures the children develop respect for themselves, each other and their environment. We believe in the power of the school community to change and enhance lives for the better.

We love each other and our friends of all faiths and none (Diversity): We believe that our curriculum should develop our pupils to be global citizens; with scientific/technological/religious and cultural awareness and with a knowledge of current affairs. We want our curriculum to develop a culture of learning, understanding and respecting rights of ourselves and others. We want to challenge stereotypes through a culture of enquiry, discussion and experience.

We learn to agree and disagree well through respect of one another (Resilience): Our curriculum will lead our pupils to become more resilient individuals. We hope to encourage the children to develop understanding through respect of different points of views including the advantages and disadvantages of others. We want to provide the ability to deal with different challenges across the curriculum and in the wider world. They will develop the skills and knowledge to solve problems without giving up or without falling out; developing the skills to work independently and positively, becoming resourceful along the way.

We grow in faith and flourish in the image of Christ. (Growth): Our curriculum will give our children the opportunities to develop healthily in body and mind in spirit of curious endeavour.
